Thesp eyes antagonist role in Todd Phillips' threequel
While most of the roles for "The Hangover Part III" have already been cast, Todd Phillips still has one juicy part to fill, and it looks like he's found the actor he wants. John Goodman is in talks for what sources describe as a small role as an antagonist in the vein of the character Paul Giamatti played in "Hangover II."
Phillips is back to direct with original cast members Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis. Legendary will co-finance the pic with WB.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Warner Bros. plans to release the pic on May 24.
Phillips co-wrote the script with Craig Mazin. Phillips and Daniel Goldberg will produce with Legendary's Thomas Tull exec producing.
Thesps rumored to be on Phillips' wishlist for the role include Sean Penn and Robert Downey Jr.
Gersh-repped Goodman has a busy fall ahead of him. He lends his voice first to the Focus Features' "ParaNorman," which bows Friday. He'll be seen in Warner Bros.' "Trouble With the Curve" and "Argo," followed later in the fall by Paramount's "Flight."
